A Nice Family Gathering: Chapin Community Theatre - November 12-21. A comic, yet touching, story of the Lundeen family, Minnesota Lutherans who gather for their first Thanksgiving after a sad event earlier in the year. They soon learn that old issues are not quite resolved as the story leads audiences to a warm and affirming conclusion. The play is the winner of the 2000 Rochester Playwright Festival. It will be staged at the new Midlands Technical College theatre at the Harbison Campus, 7300 College St. in Irmo. Production dates are Nov. 12-13, 18-21 and Dec. 2-4. Irving Berlin's White Christmas: Town Theatre November 12 - December 12. ‘Tis the season, and all the more reason to be jolly – this fantastic stage adaptation of the beloved classic film White Christmas will make its South Carolina community theatre debut on Town’s stage. 38th Annual Governors' Cup Road Race: Downtown Columbia. - November 13. One of SC's marquee running events, the race features a series of events including a Half Marathon, an 8K Run, a 4-Mile Walk and the Kid's Cup Run & Challenge. The scenic course begins at the State House at Gervais and Main and ends at the historic Horseshoe of the University of South Carolina.
