About Craig Summerall,
Craig Summerall was raised and lived in Beaufort, SC for 29 years before making Lexington, SC and the Greater Columbia, SC area his home. During his time in Beaufort, Craig spent summer days working for his father’s landscaping company and learned early on the value of “curb appeal”. After 4 years of college at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, Craig began to manage an extremely busy and complex seafood distribution and processing company. This would provide invaluable experience in operating a business from both a managerial and accounting standpoint. The next building block of Craig’s career was as a financial consultant where he worked for both Merrill Lynch and BB&T as an investment manager for individuals and small businesses. This experience provided the final framework to complete Craig’s future career; the ability to understand a clients total financial picture, and how the purchase or sale of a home impacts an individual.
In November of 2001, Craig’s mother-in-law Retta Whitehead approached him with the opportunity to become a part of her long standing real estate team serving the Greater Columbia and Lexington markets. In January 2002 the two began to continue Retta’s already successful real estate sales and to transform that into one of Columbia’s first real estate teams, “The Lake Murray Team.” After six years of working for a national brokerage, Retta and Craig felt drawn to the ownership of their own real estate company and in April 2008, Exit Real Estate Consultants opened it doors……the rest is history unwritten!
