The heat has hit in Lexington SC and in the Greater Columbia, SC area. This means temperatures are in the 90's and people all over are looking for some things to do to stay out of the heat. Coming up this weekend, The State Museum will host Nightime at the State Museum. You will be able to watch the new museum movie Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, and venture into the darkened galleries on flashlight tours. Countdown to kindergarten is where families with soon-to-be kindergartners can come to EdVenture Children's Museum from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. The museum, S.C. First Steps and WLTX-TV are hosting Countdown to Kindergarten.
There is also a Family night this Friday night at the Columbia Museum of Art. The YMCA and the Columbia Museum of Art have teamed up to host Family Fun Night at the museum. From 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, kids can explore the galleries, create their own art and watch interactive performances.
The inaugural Clash in the Carolinas brings local and international boxers to the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center . Stepping into the ring Saturday are heavyweight Moultrie Witherspoon from the Midlands, featherweight Jae-Sung Lee from South Korea and S.C. boxer Lisa Bolin.
