Lexington SC Community News Update March 14, 2014

Lexington School District 1 Being Honored -
Congratulations to Lexington School District One on recently being honored by the National School Boards Association with a Magna Award for the district's World Languages program. The award involves recognizing school boards for taking bold and innovative steps to advance public education, and the Partial Immersion program that District One implemented beginning in 2005 certainly qualifies. Currently, 10,989 kindergarten through grade 5 students, 5,599 sixth through eighth-grade students and 7,025 ninth through 12th-grade students take a world language class.

Lexington Woman's Club Golf Tournament -

Don't forget to sign up for the Lexington Woman's Club golf tournament to benefit Chris Myers Children's Place. It's being held March 31 at the Country Club of Lexington, registration is $160 for two players and includes green fees, cart, parties, drinks and prizes.
