Summer Concert Series: Village at Sandhill
Friday June 3, 2011
The kick-off concert of the season features Jazz Dance/Big Band - Swing Set - on June 3 from 7pm-9pm in Town Center Commons. Also new for 2011, games and contests for all ages will begin at 5pm. Fort Jackson Night at the Blowfish: Capital City Stadium

In celebration of the U.S. Army’s 236th birthday, the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce Friends of Our Forces will host its fourth annual Fort Jackson Night at the Blowfish. The event, honoring members of the military and their families, will take place June 4 at Capital City Stadium in Columbia. During a pre-game ceremony, members of the local community will again sign a covenant conveying the community’s continued support for the armed forces, soldiers and their families. After the game, attendees will enjoy a fireworks display. Fort Jackson Night at the Blowfish is free for military ID holders. More info at the Chamber's website. |

Toucan Tuesdays: Riverbanks Zoo and Garden
Tuesdays Beginning June 7, 2011
Beginning on Tuesday, June 7, two can visit Riverbanks for the price of one with a donation of two cans of non-perishable food to Harvest Hope. Riverbanks visitors generated more than 5,000 pounds of food during last year’s Toucan Tuesdays drive, and those donations fed approximately 3,400 people. Buy-one, get-one admission isn’t the only perk guests will receive for visiting on a Toucan Tuesday. Riverbanks will also offer $2 ICEEs and 2-for-1 specials in the Elephant’s Trunk Gift Shop. Our Anytime, Summertime Camps offer hours of fun and activity. The specially developed camp curriculum is designed around themes such as “Fantasy Castle” or “Wild West” and combines physical fitness, gymnastics and play with arts and crafts and special events. Camps are for children ages 3-8 years old and are available Monday through Friday for 3 hours each day.
