Through Saturday, October 23. The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Back by popular demand, High Voltage Theatre reprises it's original production of the classic American Tale, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow! Having been in hiatus for two seasons, High Voltage Theatre brings the version that started a Midlands Halloween tradition! This special adaptation of the original production is conceived, directed and produced by Christopher Cook. 8pm | West Columbia Riverwalk Amphitheatre. Shows will also take place on October 28-31. Through Monday, October 25. Moms, Music and Coffee. Enjoy coffee and pastries, as well as finding out what music therapy is and how your child can benefit. After a brief presentation, you’ll have half an hour to mingle and get to know others as you please while Natalie Mullis, MT-BC treats your child to a music therapy group focusing on social and motor skills. Friday, October 22 & Tuesday, October 26. Free Game Night! Don't you wish you could test things out before you buy them? Well you can! Head to Toys & Games, Etc for their weekly drop-in beginning at 6 pm. They have over 250 open games that you can test out...and you don't even have to read the directions because the helpful staff will teach you! Saturday, October 23. Art on the River with Bob Graham. The Saluda River Club invites you to mingle with neighbors, meet the artist and experience his passion for western art, as well as the love of his South Carolina roots. Paintings depicting the War Between the States, Native American, Western and Cowboy themes, prints and portraits will be available for purchase during the Art on the River event. 10am-6pm. Saturday, October 23. SC Science and Engineering Festival: Ignite your Curiosity! Designed for youth, teachers and parents, this event will encourage audiences to explore the wonders of science and engineering through hands-on, interactive activities demonstrating how science and engineering impacts and enhances our everyday lives. Activities will include: Rocket build & launch, collaborative community-building sculpture, create-and-take solar-powered micro cars, nanotechnology demonstrations, robotics demonstration and competition, “Pocket” chemistry demonstrations and so much more! Sunday, October 24. Rocktoberfest. The White Mule and Bottomrock Entertainment presents its first annual Rocktoberfest on the 1500 block of Main Street between Taylor and Hampton from noon-8pm. Come out to see live bands all day, drink some of your favorite Octoberfest brews and enjoy the food!! Featured bands include CherryCase, Full Color Footage, The Kicks, S-Tribe, The Mobros, Kingslyn, and Sequoyah Prep School. $7 in advance and $10 day of the festival | $5 student tickets with valid student ID. Wednesday, October 27. Uncovering the Past. Join our on-site archaeologist as he uncovers the day-to-day history of the Mann-Simons family. Through artifacts recovered during his excavations at the site, Jake is currently piecing together the material and social world of the family and their business pursuits, including the grocery store and lunch counter they operated at the site. Visit his lab, see some of the site's 60,000 recovered artifacts, and learn about the African-American family who made their lives in Columbia since 1825. 11 am. Through Sunday, October 30. Boo At The Zoo. It's the family event that will make Mom giggle, Dad jiggle and kids wiggle with delight! Enjoy the Trick-or-Treat Trail, Moonlight Magic with Ray, Nightly Costume Parade, Marshmallow Roast, Frankenstein’s Foam Zone, Mysterious Maze, Creepy Creature Encounters, Mummy’s Eeky Freaky Dance Party and so much more!
